The writer wanted to explore AI and how it has advanced. We want to show how far AI has come, and since the magazine was centered around the 70’s. I made the design based off a 70’s video game that used AI in the gameplay.
I was tasked with desinging this article, and when we first started we had no direction of where we wanted to go with it. The magazine's feature article was about journalism in the 70's and the team decided we wanted to make the whole magazine centered around that time, so I mainly wanted to keep it on theme.
The author for this one had many other duties at the magazine and was mainly focused on online content which led this article to get less attention. I also had 3 other articles I was focused on so we both put this in the back of our minds. We couldn't think of a good theme for this page, I made one set in an old Burger King and one set as a 70's yearbook. (but it ended up being more 80's) We finally got set on the PLATO design.
